Tourism
The tourism of the village goes back to the beginning of the 20th century. As a result of the increasing number of visitors, it was necessary to provide a wider range of services and to improve the appearance of the village to satisfy the national and foreign visitors. The village has progressed in the past years, and now all public utilities are available: sewage, natural gas pipeline, cable TV network and internet.
Visitors may swim or sunbath on the local beach or on the naturist beach unique on the south part of the Balaton. The surface of the local beach is 5346 m² suitable for 1000 persons. The clean and neat beach has gradually deepening natural water which offers a perfect leisure time for families with small children. There are numerous traditional or fast food restaurants, pool for children, grounds for different sports and pedal boat and boat rentals available on the beach. A beauty saloon, a cake shop and an agency for the change of foreign currencies may be found in the main building of the beach. The local beach is open from 1 June until 30 September.
The Naturist Beach and Camping may be found in a neighbourhood surrounded by reed, may offer place for 1600 persons. The convenience of the guests is ensured by restaurants, fast food restaurants and a supermarket. Rental of sporting equipments and different sporting facilities are available for our guests. The opening season is from 15 May until 15 September.
The visitors may chose accommodation from 400 houses, residences and apartments for rent. Further information is available in tourist agencies, tourist websites and soon this website will also help you to find the perfect place to stay. Apart from the private houses, the Beach Hotel located next to the beach and residences in different areas of the village offer possible accommodation.
Balatonberény has 1200 inhabitants but during the summer this number increases to 4-5000 as a result of the visitors staying in the village. They are served by 7 supermarkets, numerous traditional and fast food restaurants, pubs, vineries.
Those who enjoy an active free time, may use the tennis courts, ride horses, settle at fishing places, and may ride their bikes on the bike route.
